Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using PaddlePals ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
Key Points:
- You must be at least 13 years old to use PaddlePals
- You agree to provide accurate information
- You're responsible for your account security
- These terms are governed by UK law
Subscription & Pricing
1. Subscription Plans

2. Price Changes
- Prices may vary and are subject to change
- We'll notify you 30 days before any price increase
- Existing subscriptions maintain their price for the current billing period
- Promotional prices are temporary and may expire
3. Billing Cycle
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period
- Monthly plans renew every 30 days
- Annual plans renew every 365 days
- Renewal charges occur on the same date each period

Payment Terms & Security
1. Payment Processing

2. Failed Payments & Grace Period

- Day 1: Payment fails - immediate retry attempted
- Day 2: Email notification sent with payment update link
- Day 4: Second retry attempt + reminder email
- Day 7: Final notice - service suspension warning
- Day 8: Premium features suspended (data preserved)
- Day 30: Account downgraded to Free plan
Your data is NEVER deleted due to payment issues - only Premium features are suspended.
3. Accepted Payment Methods
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express
- UK debit cards
- Apple Pay & Google Pay
- SEPA Direct Debit (EU customers)
- Bank transfers (annual plans only)
4. VAT & Taxes
- All prices include UK VAT (20%) where applicable
- Business customers can provide VAT number for invoices
- International customers responsible for local taxes
Cancellation & Refunds
1. Cancellation Policy
- Cancel anytime from your account settings
- No cancellation fees or penalties
- Access continues until end of current billing period
- Automatic renewal stops immediately upon cancellation
- You can reactivate anytime without losing data
2. Refund Policy
Refund Eligibility:
- New customers: 30-day money-back guarantee
- Service issues: Pro-rata refund for downtime over 24 hours
- Duplicate charges: Full refund within 5 business days
- Annual to Monthly: Pro-rata refund when switching
3. No Refunds For:
- Partial monthly periods (except first 30 days)
- Unused time after voluntary cancellation
- Account suspension due to Terms violation
- Change of mind after 30-day guarantee period
User Accounts & Responsibilities
1. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information
- One account per person (no shared accounts)
- You're responsible for maintaining account security
- Notify us immediately of unauthorised access
- Choose a strong, unique password
2. Age Requirements
- Minimum age: 13 years old
- Users 13-18 need parental consent
- Parents responsible for minor's account activity
- Enhanced privacy settings for under-18 accounts
3. Account Suspension/Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Violation of these Terms of Service
- Illegal or fraudulent activity
- Harassment or abuse of other users
- Attempting to hack or damage the Service
- Creating multiple accounts to abuse free trials
Acceptable Use Policy
You AGREE to:
- Use PaddlePals for lawful purposes only
- Respect other users and their privacy
- Report bugs and security issues responsibly
- Keep your account information up to date
- Follow court booking etiquette and rules
You MUST NOT:
- Share or sell your account access
- Use bots or automated systems
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the Service
- Upload malicious code or viruses
- Harass, bully, or threaten other users
- Post inappropriate or offensive content
- Manipulate leaderboards or statistics
- Impersonate others or PaddlePals staff
- Use the Service for commercial purposes without permission
Intellectual Property
1. PaddlePals Property
- All PaddlePals content, features, and functionality are owned by PaddlePals Ltd
- Protected by UK and international copyright, trademark, and other laws
- PaddlePals name, logo, and all related marks are our trademarks
- You may not use our intellectual property without written permission
2. Your Content
- You retain ownership of content you post (photos, comments, etc.)
- You grant us a license to use your content to provide the Service
- You're responsible for content you post
- Don't post content you don't have rights to use
3. Feedback & Suggestions
Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide become property of PaddlePals and may be used without compensation.
Disclaimers & Limitations
1. Service Availability
- We strive for 99.9% uptime but don't guarantee uninterrupted service
- Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance
- We're not liable for third-party service outages (Stripe, hosting, etc.)
2. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
3. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PaddlePals shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Damages exceeding fees paid in the last 12 months
4. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify PaddlePals from claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
Dispute Resolution
1. Governing Law
- These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales
- Disputes will be resolved in UK courts
- EU customers retain their local consumer rights
2. Dispute Process
- Step 1: Contact our support team to resolve informally
- Step 2: Formal written complaint if unresolved
- Step 3: Mediation through UK mediation service
- Step 4: Legal proceedings if mediation fails
3. Class Action Waiver
You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to class action proceedings.
Privacy & Data Protection
Your Data Rights:
- Full GDPR and UK Data Protection Act compliance
- Your data is never sold to third parties
- Complete data deletion upon account closure
- Data portability - export your data anytime

When you delete your account, ALL your data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, including backups within 90 days.
Changes to Terms
How We Update Terms:
- Email notification for significant changes
- 30-day notice period for material changes
- Continued use after changes means acceptance
- You can request previous versions for reference
- Option to close account if you disagree with changes
